Vivienne Westwoods weiser Spruch „Buy less, choose well, make it last” prangt in der Umkleidekabine, und er wird zu 100 Prozent gelebt. Was 2012 als Skater-Marke in Eferding startete, ist seit 2019 Vresh. Fast die gesamte Ausstattung hier ist gebraucht, etwa aus einer alten Gärtnerei, Wasserrohre wurden zu Kleiderstangen und alles fügt sich „perfekt unperfekt“ ins Industrial Design der Tabakfabrik. Die Marke für Basics ohne Schnickschnack legt den Fokus auf nachhaltige Materialien wie Biobaumwolle und Tencel, und verzichtet komplett auf Bedrucktes. Zwei Kollektionen pro Jahr werden in Portugal zu 100 Prozent für Vresh produziert. Und weil jedes Teil getragen werden soll, gibt es B-Ware im Shop wie online und auf willhaben.at. Die Vresh-Preise werden so fair wie möglich kalkuliert, denn „die Kosten sollten nie ein Grund sein, sich nicht nachhaltig zu kleiden“, sagt Michi, die den Shop leitet, während sich Vresh-Gründer Klaus mittlerweile vorwiegend um Das Merch kümmert – aber auch regelmäßig nach Portugal reist, um sich vor Ort die Produktionsbedingungen anzusehen, damit Viviennes Spruch ewig gültig sein kann.

Vivienne Westwood’s wise saying “Buy less, choose well, make it last” is emblazoned on the wall of the changing room, and it is 100 percent the credo here. What started as a skateboard wear brand in Eferding in 2012 has been Vresh since 2019. Virtually everything in the shop is previously owned or made from repurposed materials. Once, the team cleaned out a garden centre and turned all the water pipes into clothes rails, so everything blends “perfectly imperfectly” into the industrial design of Tabakfabrik Linz. The brand stands for basics and focuses on sustainable materials such as organic cotton and tencel and completely dispenses with printed fabrics. Two collections a year are produced in Portugal 100 percent exclusively for Vresh. And because every item needs a wearer, factory seconds are available in the shop, online and from willhaben.at. Prices at Vresh are calculated as fairly as possible, because “costs should never be a reason not to dress sustainably,” says Michi, who runs the shop. Vresh founder Klaus now mainly looks after the merch, and also travels to Portugal regularly to oversee production on site and make sure that Vivienne’s saying remains valid forever.

Sie gestaltet den Laden rund ums grüne Sofa immer wieder neu – ab und zu sogar mit Dancefloor, wenn sie bei „Beat tatar“ die heimische DJ-Szene zusammenbringt und oft auch selbst als Murphy auflegt. Iris beweist, dass Mode mit Secondhand und Vintage definitiv mehr ist als nur Kleidung, nämlich Ausdruck der Persönlichkeit, ein Beitrag zum Umweltschutz und natürlich vor allem Spaß.
